Veteran Nigerian music star, Innocent Ujah Idibia popularly called 2Face, on Tuesday, stormed the city of Lokoja, the capital of the Kogi State, in November to seek peace and guarantee a non-violent election to governorship.
The music icon championing the movement’ Vote not fight, election no be war’ said he was in the state to preach peace and see that corrupt politicians are not using youth for their selfish interest.
2Face who paid a courtesy appeal to the Chief of Staff of the Kogi State Governor, Edward Onoja and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Secretariat, respectively, noted that his organization had mobilized more than 62 million people in the country to pursue the peace campaign.
The Africa Queen crooner also pointed out that the campaign ‘ Vote not fight, election no be war’ launched in 2014 is partnering with national and international agencies including the National Democratic Institute, NDI, Behavioral Change in Development Participation Initiative, PIBCID, and Action Aid.
The former member of the deceased Plantashun boys warned the state’s youth to be their country’s good ambassadors, stressing that they are this nation’s future.
While performing their duties, he also advised security agencies and the electoral umpires to be impartial.
