A man named Yusuf Seidu Uhiene was killed on Saturday after hoodlums assaulted the People’s Democratic Party’s convoy of governorship candidate in Kogi, Mr. Musa Wada.
In a statement, Austin Okai, deputy director of the state’s PDP Public Communication, said the spate of attacks became a challenge to the conduct of the November 16 governorship election in Kogi.
Okai revealed that thugs believed that Uhiene was killed by the ruling All Progressive Congress supporters.
Two other supporters of the PDP, Nasiru Sule and Ilemona, he said, suffered severe injuries during the attack.
He said, “Our candidate, Engr Musa Wada, attended the meeting of stakeholders of the Kogi East PDP in Anyigba.
“Stretching between the main road and Harbor Bay, the meeting place, APC thugs unleashed mayhem on our supporters killing one and injuring two others.”
